On exhibit during the month of March, at the Teaneck Library are works of art by six Teaneck High School and eleven Benjamin Franklin Middle School students who were asked to interpret what a Garden to Nurture Human Understanding means to them. The Garden to Nurture Human Understanding is a collective project of the Enslaved African Memorial, the Holocaust Memorial Committees and the Township Library. Outdoor memorials and indoor library space for exhibits and educational programs will make the connections between the two histories, highlighting experiences with prejudice, exclusion and diaspora leading to stories of resilience, survival and continuity. A closing reception is planned for Sunday, March 31 at 2:00 PM in the library auditorium. Come meet the students and participate in a discussion about the project and hear how the students interpreted their ideas into art.
