The COVID-19 world crisis impacts us all. On a local level, Teaneck is an epicenter that has responded to the needs of it’s residents on many levels: health, education, food on the table.
I am not a first responder nor an essential service provider, but, as a Board of Education Trustee on the Finance and the Curriculum Committees I do have a perspective on some activity. The school district is meeting the challenge with planning and review. We evolve, adjusting as concerns arise. Congratulations are due to the administration, teachers, support staff and of course students and their families.
I encourage all of us to support the good work of Teaneck’s Helping Hands Food Pantry, the Teaneck Ambulance Corp and other organizations that are easing the burdens of many.
Five weeks ago, on day one of Teaneck’s voluntary quarantine, I closed my store and put a small sign on the door “REGULAR HOURS WILL RESUME WHEN REASONABLE”. Let’s hope that “when reasonable” is a day that comes soon. I have added a larger sign on a window, shown below.
“STAY STRONG” that’s the bottom line.
