The outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus has had far-reaching effects in the community of Teaneck. From grief and loss of friends and loved ones associated with COVID-19 to the isolating impact of the ensuing quarantine, this virus has created a major disruption in our lives. And the stress and uncertainty of what the future holds is overwhelming for many in our community.
Teaneck Public Library is partnering with New Jersey Hope and Healing to provide a 3-week book discussion and community education series using Brene Brown’s New York Times best-selling book The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You’re Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are as a starting place.
This series will be co-moderated by certified school social worker Dana Rahmel and librarians from Teaneck Public Library. Dana has worked in public education in New Jersey for more than 13 years and is a member of the Burlington County Crisis Response Team.
This 3-week series will be held via Zoom from August 26 – September 10.
