As you may know, Governor Murphy’s Executive Order 242 rescinds the statewide indoor mask mandate and the requirement for maintaining six feet of social distancing, effective May 28. However, EO 242 also permits employers and entities overseeing public spaces to impose stricter requirements regarding mask-wearing and social distancing in indoor settings for employees, customers, guests, and other individuals.
Teaneck Public Library will continue to require employees and patrons to wear masks while inside the library building until further notice. This decision comes out of concern and respect for children who are not yet able to be vaccinated, and those who may be medically unable to be vaccinated.
We are working on expanding additional indoor library services, but in order to do so, it is critical that we continue to maintain appropriate restrictions that keep the library building safe and welcoming for all residents.
