Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Together in Teaneck: an Inclusive Storywalk®
Thursday, October 29 at 4:30pm
Join us for a ribbon-cutting ceremony with author Alexandra Penfold to celebrate the opening of a new StoryWalk® in Teaneck on the theme of diversity and inclusion. Please register. The first 15 families to register will receive a signed copy of the first StoryWalk picture book, All Are Welcome by Alexandra Penfold, when they attend this child-friendly event. Grab one of our biweekly STEM or Arts & Crafts activities from our curbside pickup table while supplies last. On weeks with no STEM/craft activity we will have activity sheets available.

Outdoor Baby & Toddler Time – Tuesday Registration OR Thursday Registration
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30am, October 6 – November 19
Outdoor Baby & Toddler Time is for babies and todders up to age 3. We read stories and rhymes, sing songs, do fingerplays and movement activities, and have a great time. Registration with a Teaneck library card is required – children may register for either the Tuesday or Thursday session. Please bring a blanket to sit on – seats will not be provided. Meet near the Children’s Reading Garden on the library lawn, weather-permitting.

Outdoor Preschool Storytime – Registration
Wednesdays at 2pm, October 7 – November 18
Join us at Outdoor Preschool Storytime to enjoy the autumn weather, our favorite picture books and a take-home activity for ages 3-5. Registration with a Teaneck library card required. Please bring a blanket to sit on – seats will not be provided. Meet near the Children’s Reading Garden on the libary lawn, weather-permitting.

Hora de Cuentos (Storytime in Spanish) – Facebook Live
Mondays at 7pm, October 5 – November 16

Join us for Spanish Storytime. Meets Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. The video will be available for replay on our Facebook page. Storytime is completely in Spanish.

Pajama Storytime – Facebook Live
Wednesdays at 7pm, October 7 – November 18
Join us on Facebook Live for bedtime stories and songs on Wednesdays at 7pm.

Outdoor Read to a Dog with Venus – Registration
Mondays 4-5pm, By Appointment
Children can sign up to read a book or books of their choice to a certified therapy dog “one-on-one” for 15 minutes in the Children’s Reading Garden, weather-permitting. The purpose of this program is to encourage reading, improve language skills, and give children a sense of security and confidence in their reading ability.
Space is limited! Children must be able to read independently to participate. We welcome children of all abilities. Teaneck residents are given priority. Register and wait for a confirmation email with your appointment time.

Telescope Night with Pearl Observatory – Registration
Tuesday, October 27 at 7pm (Rain Date: October 29)
Would you like to see mountains, Valleys and Craters on our moon? View the clouds and moons of Jupiter? See Saturn and its rings? Join us for Telescope Night on Tuesday, October 27 at 7pm (Rain Date: October 29) outside Teaneck Public Library. This STEM program for age 5 and up is presented by Pearl Observatory. Registration with a Teaneck library card is required, and space is limited. Masks will be required for attendance and social distancing guidelines must be observed at all times. The telescope eyepiece will be sanitized between families. Please bring a blanket or chair to relax in while your family waits its turn.

Leap Into Science: Balance – A Family Workshop – Registration
Wednesday, October 28 at 4:30pm
Join us for a fun STEM workshop as we explore the topic of Balance. We will meet in the Reading Garden. Registration required. Best for children age 5 and up.

My First Book Club – Zoom
Tuesdays at 4pm, November 17, and December 8
Join us on Zoom as we read, discuss and make a craft together. Advance registration is required. Once registered, you will receive information on how to pick up the book and craft materials. My First Book Club is for kids in kindergarten through second grade.
