Library Renovation Highlights

The recent renovation of the Teaneck Library has transformed it into a modern, welcoming space for the community to enjoy reading, learning, and engaging with others. Improvements include:

  • Accessible Facilities: A brand-new, ADA-compliant bathroom on the first floor for easier access.
  • Enhanced Safety: Updated stairs that meet modern safety standards for improved navigation.
  • Fresh, Inviting Atmosphere: New furniture, fresh paint, and updated flooring through most of the building.
  • Electrical Outlets: New outlets throughout the library, including in the study carrels in the fiction and quiet study areas, for easy device charging.
  • Safer Environment: Asbestos abatement in the basement for a healthier, safer space.
  • A New Teen Area: A redesigned teen space on the lower level for study, reading, and socializing.

What was not included?
Why?

The Auditorium and the public restrooms on the lower level will not be renovated at this time. They will be renovated later, through grant funding opportunities. Historical features, including the brickwork, fireplaces, and murals, remain unchanged.
