The mission of the Teaneck Public Library is to provide modern library resources and services necessary to meet the evolving educational, recreational and informational needs of the public, thus enhancing individual and community life.
The Library is governed by a Board of Trustees as established under NJSA 40:54-1. The Board’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to: the selection and appointment of the Director; the promotion of library interests; the securing of funds adequate for a progressive, expanding program; and the determination of the rules and regulations governing library service and personnel.

Regular meetings of the Board are held monthly at the Teaneck Public Library, unless otherwise noted. Members of the public who wish to attend can do so in person or virtually. All meetings are open to the public.
All regular and special meetings of the Board are publicized according to provisions of Public Law 1975, Chapter 231, “Open Public Meetings Act,” and notices of such meetings will be posted in the Library, on the Library website, in the designated newspapers, and filed with the Township Clerk.
“Unless otherwise noted, all meetings are held on Thursday evenings, beginning at 7:00 PM. Members of the public who wish to attend can do so: in person in the Library Auditorium or virtually via Google Meet. The Google Meet link will be available two days prior to the Board Meeting; for example, on the Tuesday prior to the Thursday meeting.
Please note: Virtual attendees will be muted until the Good and Welfare portion of the meeting. During the Remarks from the Public, you will be given the opportunity to raise your hand, and you will then be unmuted.”
