This fiction book follows two main characters: (1) a nomad who is trying to kill the world using the virus smallpox, and (2) a detective trying to stop him from doing that. It goes into detail on how the nomad tries to do it and what his motives are, which I liked. And then with the detective, the author portrays him as a loner, but this loner has a lot going on and is also incredibly smart. At the end of the book, the detective ends up outsmarting everyone in an ingenious plan and I thought it was cool.

The book started really slow, giving me a lot of information that I didn’t understand and didn’t think was necessary, but it completely was. Terrry Hayes, takes you though 8 different events in diffrent locations that i didnt realize that they each had somehting to do with the other, but they were all. Once the author said one line, everything just started to click into place, and I realized that everything was really necessary. Even though the book is fiction, it made me feel like anything is possible since the detective overcomes great odds to succeed. Also, I like how the author writes that he has a sort of elegance.
