Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
Of mice and men by John Steinbeck is a book about friendship, compassion and the struggles people had to go through during the Great Depression. The book is about two working men (Lennie and George) who travel from ranch to ranch looking for work. Though their life is not easy, they both hope to someday settle down and own a farm, where they can live free and take care of animals.
The story is mainly focuses on the relationship between Lenny and George and all the hardships they have to take on together. Also this topic is very prevalent throughout the book because Lennie has a mental disability which makes it hard for him to understand situations along with some other things. Which causes George to have to always adapt and be very vigilant when it comes to Lennie.
This book made me feel both interested and sad. I loved how strong the connection between Lennie and George was but the ending was very surprising to me. Also this book opened my eyes about how people with disabilities were neglected the support and patience they needed. Lastly, I would highly recommend this book. although it is not a very long book it is filled with drama and suspenses, never leaving you bored.
