Summer Reading Challenge

This summer, unearth a story at your library! Our Children’s Summer Reading Challenge is open to children from birth through students entering 5th grade. Teens have their very own challenge. The challenge runs from June 23 through July 31 , but you can register early and be ready to start reading on opening day.
Log your reading throughout the summer to earn badges, rewards, and virtual raffle tickets. Each badge you earn unlocks a raffle ticket that can be entered into the prize drawing of your choice.
Be sure to visit the library too! Every visit gives you another chance to enter special in-person prize drawings. The more you read and visit, the more chances you’ll have to win.
Whether you’re reading independently, listening to audiobooks or being read to by a family member, every story counts!

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Ongoing
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a national program with a very simple goal: to create lifetime readers starting at a very early age. Reading with your child benefits development and allows you to create a family bond. Start reading and tracking your books with your little one (birth-kindergarten ) – it’s never too early! You can log your books digitally or using our simple printable tracker. Your child will receive badges and stickers along the way as well as a gift and certificate when they reach the goal. Reading the same book again and again (as children often want to do) counts!
