Registered programs may be limited to Teaneck residents.

Teen Summer Reading Challenge
This summer, unearth a story at your library! Our Teen Summer Reading Challenge is open to students entering grades 6-12. Children have their own challenge designed just for them. The challenge runs from June 23 through July 31, but you can register early and be ready to start reading on opening day.

Log your reading throughout the summer to earn virtual raffle tickets. Each ticket can be entered into gift card prize drawings through Beanstack.

Be sure to visit the library too! Participating readers may enter one in-person raffle each day they visit the Teen Room for a chance to win special prizes, including a Candy & Snack Basket, Apple AirPods (3rd Generation), and a Nintendo Switch 2 with a game of your choice.

Whether you’re reading books, graphic novels, eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, or listening to a story, every minute counts!

Summer Reading Kick-Off – Children’s Reading Garden
Tuesday, June 23 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
All Ages.
No registration required.

Celebrate the start of summer and sign up for the Teen Summer Reading Challenge! Create custom buttons, screen print a tote bag, hang out with friends, and grab a free treat from the ice cream truck while supplies last. Drop in anytime during the event and start your summer adventure at the library!

Crafting with Lino Print (Tote Bag Edition) – Teen Area – Lower Level

Monday, June 29 from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM.

For students entering 5th through 12th grade.
Registration is required.
Join Ms. Lydia for a crafting workshop at Teaneck Public Library! We’ll be making Linocut designs to be printed onto tote bags to take home. Registration required and materials will be provided.

Paint Night – Teen Area – Lower Level
Wednesdays, July 1 through July 29 from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM.
For students entering 5th through 12th grade.
Registration is required.
Join Ms. Lydia for a whimsical paint night at the Teaneck Public Library! Please arrive on time, so that you will have enough time to complete your artwork. Materials provided + teens can display their paintings at the library and take them home afterwards.

Dungeons & Dragons – Teen Area – Lower Level
Thursdays, July 2 through August 6 from 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM.
For students entering 5th through 8th grade.
Registration is required.
Step into the fantastical world of Dungeons & Dragons at Teaneck Public Library! Join Ms. Lydia for an immersive adventure with a team of various players. Both beginners and experienced players welcomed!

Crafting with Paper-Mache – Teen Area – Lower Level
Monday, July 13 from 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM.
For students entering 5th through 12th grade.
Registration is required.
Join Ms. Lydia for a crafting workshop at Teaneck Public Library! We’ll be making paper-mache vases to replicate ancient Athenian terracotta vases to display in the library and take home afterwards. Registration required and materials will be provided.

Crafting with Clay (Picture Frame Edition) – Teen Area – Lower Level
Monday, July 27 from 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM.
For students entering 5th through 12th grade.
Registration is required.
Join Ms. Lydia for a crafting workshop at Teaneck Public Library! We’ll be using clay and additional materials to decorate picture frames to take home. Registration required and materials will be provided.

Escaping the Library – Auditorium
Monday, August 3 from 1:00 PM – 3:45PM.
For students entering 5th through 12th grade.
Registration is required.
Got what it takes to face an escape room? Challenge yourself or with a group of friends to escape from the library! Registration required for each player – if you’re with a group, please double check and sign up for the correct time slot.

Cupcake Wars – Teen Area – Lower Level
Wednesday, August 5 from 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
For students entering 5th through 12th grade.
Registration is required.
Design a spectacular cupcake to present to a panel of judges! Participants will be told the categories immediately before each round. Supplies included.
